Robin Hood was a legendary outlaw hero of a series of English ballads, some of which date from at least as early as the 14th century. Robin Hood was a rebel, and many of the most striking episodes in the tales about him show him and his companions robbing and killing representatives of authority and giving the gains to the poor. Their most frequent enemy was the Sheriff of Nottingham, a local agent of the central government (though internal evidence from the early ballads makes it clear that the action took place chiefly in south Yorkshire, not in Nottinghamshire). Other enemies included wealthy ecclesiastical landowners. Robin treated women, the poor, and people of humble status with courtesy. A good deal of the impetus for his revolt against authority stemmed from popular resentment over those laws of the forest that restricted hunting rights. The early ballads, especially, reveal the cruelty that was an inescapable part of medieval life.

Pecarian file/folder Super Cepat dengan Everything

Jika kita punya banyak data/file di komputer, salah satu proses di windows yang sering digunakan adalah pencarian file. Meski windows sudah menyediakan fitur pencarian, tetapi hasil yang didapat biasanya masih lambat. Kecuali fitur indexing service diaktifkan. Ini pun kadang mempunyai efek samping yang memperlambat komputer.

Sebelumnya saya pernah menulis tentang Locate software pencarian file/folder dengan cepat, saat ini ada yg lebih praktis dan tidak kalah cepat, yaitu Everything.

Ketika kita mencari file menggunakan fitur bawaan windows, biasanya akan memerlukan waktu cukup lama. Lain halnya jika fitur windows Indexing Service diaktifkan, maka pencarian akan jauh lebih cepat. Tetapi ketika indexing service diaktifkan, proses meng-index file-file di komputer tidak bisa dikatakan ringan.

Proses indexing sering memperlambat kinerja komputer, belum lagi database index ini memerlukan kapasitas yang tidak sedikit. Sehngga semakin lama database akan berkuran cukup besar. Dan ketika ada perubahan file, proses indexing juga memerlukan waktu.

Everything

Program gratis dan kecil ini memang sangat sederhana, tetapi seperti namanya, Everything memberikan hasil yang memuaskan. Hanya dengan program kecil berukuran 272 KB, kita bisa mencari file di komputer dalam sekejap. Selain itu, kita juga bisa mencari menggunakan berbagai ekspresi sehingga hasilnya lebih akurat.

Kelebihan dan Fitur-fiturnya antara lain

Proses Indexing yang sangat cepat
Pencarian yang sangat cepat

Everything hanya mengindex nama file dan folder data di komputer sehingga bisa databasenya sangat cepat. Sebuah installasi windows yang terdiri sekitar 20.000 file bisa di index sekitar 1 detik saja. Di komputer saya, lebih dari 200.000 file di index kurang dari 10 detik.

Ketika di komputer ada penambahan atau pengurangan file, ketika everything dijalankan, otomatis database akan terupdate dan ini pun memerlukan waktu sangat singkat, bahkan ketika program aktif, database sudah ter-update.

Yang perlu diingat, file dan folder yang akan di index adalah yang berlokasi di drive yang mempunyai file sistem NTFS. Jika drive komputer menggunakan file system FAT32 maka tidak akan di index dalam database, sehingga tidak bisa di cari dengan program ini. Untuk mengetahui file sistem drive, klik kanan drive yang di inginkan dan pilih properties, maka akan di tampilkan informasi File System.

Tips Pencarian file menggunakan Everything

Ketika kita mengetikkan kata yang dicari, everything akan menampilkan hasilnya secara langsung, tanpa kita perlu menunggu lama. Berikut beberapa contoh penggunaan pencarian untuk menghasilkan data yang spesifik.

“windows 7″ akan mencari file yang mempunyai kata tepat “windows 7″.
komputer | laptop untuk mencari file yang mengandung kata komputer atau laptop ( dengan tanda “|”)
.jpg Untuk mencari semua file ber-ekstensi jpg
.jpg|.gif|.png ( dengan tanda “|” ) untuk mencari semua file yang berekstensi jpg,gif dan png
ebook .pdf|.doc mencari file yang mengandung kata ebook dan ber-ekstensi pdf atau doc
win* untuk mencari semua file yang mengandung kata berawalan win, misal: windows,winzip,windir…
ebook !windows untuk mencari file yang mengandung nama ebook, tetapi abaikan jika mengandung kata windows
*.?? akan mencari semua file yang mempunyai ekstensi 2 huruf
*.???? akan mencari semua file yang mempunyai ekstensi 4 huruf

Masih banyak tips penggunaan lainnya, selengkanya bisa membaca FAQ. Program ini juga mempunyai ukuran sangat kecil, tersedia versi installer dan portable. Versi installer hanya berukuran 334 KB dan versi portable hanya 272 KB. Selain itu juga terdapat versi command line, yang hanya berukuran 53 KB. Ketika program dijalankan pertama kali, setelah aktif, tunggu beberapa saat, sampai everything membuat index database file terlebih dahulu.

Ada kalanya kita memerlukan software (program) untuk merekam suara yang ada di komputer, atau kita ingin merekam suara kita sendiri melalui mic yang dipasang di komputer. Bagaimana melakukan hal ini ? ternyata untuk merekam audio/suara cukup mudah, ada banyak software yang bisa kita gunakan.

Berikut beberapa software gratis yang dapat digunakan untuk merekam audio (suara), baik internal, microphone atau media lainnya.

Jet Audio Basic

Selain mampu menjalankan berbagai file audio, konversi audio, Jet Audio juga memberikan fitur untuk merekam audio, baik suara yang keluar di speaker, line-in atau melalui microphone.

Hasil rekaman suara bisa disimpan ke berbagai format, seperti wav, ogg, wma, flac, realmedia dan lainnya. Selain itu, hasil keluaran bisa otomatis di beri nama dengan tambahan waktu (tanggal, jam, menit,detik) sehingga bisa merekam banyak audio secara terus menerus tanpa harus bingung dengan nama file keluaran.

Jika mempunyai versi berbayar, ada tambahan fitur untuk mengatur equalizer dan band-pass ( low pass filter dan high pass filter) serta Audio Trimmer. Tetapi dengan vrsi gratis pun sebenarnya cukup memadai.

Audacity

Salah satu program gratis dan open source adalah Audacity. Selain kaya dengan software untuk editing audio, audacity juga memberikan fitur untuk merekam audio. Seperti halnya Jet Audio, Audacity mampu merekam audio/suara dari mic, line-in serta audio internal yang keluar di speaker.

Audacity memberikan beberapa kelebihan dibanding JetAudio, seperti kita bisa langsung mengedit audio hasil rekaman, serta format keluaran yang lebih banyak. Hasilnya bisa di export ke berbagai format seperti : MP3, WAV, GSM 6.10 wav (untuk mobile/handphone), OGG, Flac, Mp2, WMA, AMR, M4A (AAC) dan lainnya. Selain itu Audacity tersedia untuk WIndows, Linux dan Mac OS X.

Software gratis berikutnya adalah Audio Recorder for Free. Software dari audio-tool.net ini di khususkan untuk merekam audio saja. Sehingga penggunaannya mudah dan mampu menyimpan hasil rekaman menjadi MP3, WMA atau WAV. Juga dapat merekam dari line-in, microphone, suara yang keluar di speaker.

Selain penggunaan software ini sangat mudah, juga mampu berjalan di windows 98 sampai windows 7. Jadi untuk proses recording saja, software ini mungkin bisa mencukupi.
